Aspen in Bloom

My sister treats her dog, Aspen, like a child, as do many other people, including myself. She recently commissioned me for a photoshoot with her lovable pooch. Aspen's personality charmed me within minutes of starting the shoot. Such a good and photogenic boy!

After watching an Adobe Live stream featuring, Magdiel Lopez, I knew I wanted to use a photograph of Aspen to create a wall art piece in Lopez's poster design style. "Aspen in Bloom" is the product of two inspirations coming together and it made for a very personal gift for my sister.

Magdiel Lopez found fame after he started a-poster-a-day series on Instagram. His work has been featured in the New York Times and he has worked with brands such as Apple, Nike, and MTV. He is known for pop surrealism, super-saturated colors, neon gradients, and collage-like compositions. These characteristics are what I tried to accomplish with "Aspen in Bloom."
