Fern Gully Sketch Book

This Fern Gully inspired sketch book cover art was composited from free stock images. The secret to these glowing butterflies lies in Photoshop's blending modes. This was my first experience creating this effect. Now it's one of my favorite manipulations I do to photos.

This project also explored making custom Photoshop brushes out of any other image. Images of clouds can easily be turned into smoke plume brushes.

One of the things I like most about being a designer is that I can make the magic I want to see in the world.
